Mary Adeline Stephens, 83, of Rogers, passed away April 14, 2010. She was born in Drumright, Oklahoma, on December 3, 1926. She was a graduate of St. John’s School of Nursing in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was a Red Cross Nurse trained for World War II.
Mary and her husband Norman M. Stephens moved to Rogers in 1972 after Norman’s retirement from the Army. They were married for 53 years and had seven children. Mary was past president of the Retired Nurses of NWA, a Rogers Public Library volunteer and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband and two sons, David Stephens and Norman Stephens, Jr.
Survivors include her children, Becky Gilmer, Kathy Huffman, John Stephens, Dennis Stephens and Marylou Kilgore; 21 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Callison-Lough Funeral Home, Rogers. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Monsignor David LeSieur officiating. Burial will follow in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery.
