Loyd Jasper Jones, 83, passed away on September 24, 2016 in Rogers. He was born on August 9, 1933 to the late Troy and Buelah (Rose) Jones at George's Creek in Yellville, Arkansas. He was the loving husband of Katie (Ives) Jones for 43 years.
Loyd worked for RTW for many years before it changed to Kennametal. He was a gentle soul, with a soft voice that spoke with a sense of humor. He served in the Army in the Korean War. He was loving, caring husband, father, papa, brother and uncle. He enjoyed listening to the radio and watching baseball games.
He is survived by his wife of Rogers; son, Rick Jones of Greenforest, Arkansas; daughter, Kathy White of Greenforest; 2 step-sons, Ed Thompson and George Thompson both of Rogers; 2 step-daughters, Betsy Schooler of Michigan and Carrie Rivers of Rogers; 3 brothers, Vernon Jones of Washington D.C., Lyle Jones of Washington, Carl Jones of Yellville; 2 sisters, May Clark of Oklahoma and Guyla Hudson of Colorado; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by four siblings.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 2pm in Rogers Seventh-day Adventist Church.
