Kuoi was a jack of all trades. As a young boy, he was determined to do more for his family. As the oldest of 12 children, at only 11 years old, he left the only home he knew in search of work to help provide additional financial support for his parents and siblings. He was a quick learner and was able to learn many trades. From transporting missiles in Vietnam, fixing watches, and salt mining to being a mechanic. There was no task too challenging to tackle. He always found a way.
Kuoi met his wife, Lin, while fixing automobiles in Vietnam. They have five children. Kuoi and Lin wanted a better life for their children and began their journey to America. With not much more than what they were able to carry on their backs, they began their journey from Vietnam to Hong Kong and Hong Kong to America. They hoped to find a better life for their family. Their efforts proved successful as Kuoi and Lin saw all their children grow into successful adults.
Kuoi above all else was a provider for his family. Kuoi quickly learned English and began his studies to become a certified mechanic during the evening while working days at automotive shops. He fulfilled his dream of owning his automotive repair shop where he loved sharing his vast knowledge of cars. He took on many apprentices in hopes of sharing his knowledge. He was a patient and kind teacher. Kuoi enjoyed his retirement by spending precious moments with his grandchildren where he found ingenious ways to keep them safe with his many DIY projects. He loved the chaos of family vacations and the relaxing nature of fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Lin, and his five children and five grandchildren. Sean Ho (Son), Aaron Ho (Grandson) Lisa Taing (Daughter in-law), Lucian Ho (Grandson), Bianka Ho (Granddaughter), Lan Ha (Daughter), Eileen Ho (Daughter), Brian Sham (Son-in-law) Vinh Tolentino (Daughter), Dave Tolentino (Son-in-law), Annabelle Tolentino (Granddaughter), Charlotte Tolentino (Granddaughter), My Ha (Daughter) and Gerald Corson (Son-in-law).
