Kevin Burk Oxford, 68, of Garfield, Arkansas sadly departed this life on September 11, 2024. He was born on September 24, 1955 in Davenport, Iowa to the late John Sellers Oxford and Rella Josephine (Brenenstall).
Kevin proudly served in the United States Army for three years, and even gained the title of specialist four. During this time he also received awards such as the Good Conduct Medal and the Sharpshooter Badge. He was deployed to Okinawa and was tasked with bringing back three Army tug boats. It was in the military he met his wife, Susan. The two were married for 41 years and raised two wonderful sons together. He was a dedicated husband and father, and Kevin’s family was his entire world.
After moving to Northwest Arkansas, Kevin worked for Beaver Water District for over thirty years, and eventually retired. He served as a scoutmaster for many years, and he acted as a positive role model and mentor for those that he instructed. He loved to do anything outdoors, including camping, prepping, and even crafting several wood projects. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He made a great impact on those who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by: his son, Michael Oxford; parents, John and Rella Oxford; and brother, John Oxford.
Kevin is survived by: beloved wife, Susan Oxford of Garfield; son, John Oxford (Glorie) of Garfield; sister, Leslie High of Kansas City, Missouri; and grandchildren, Erika, Toody Mae, Harrison, and William. He is always also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 27th at Rollins Funeral Home at 11:00am. Interment at Liberty Cemetery in Garfield will be held at a later date.
