Jewel D. “J.D.” Thomas, Jr., 83 of Rogers passed away Tues. Jan. 27. He was born to the late Jewel D. Thomas, Sr. and Lola Thomas on September 24, 1931 in Dallas, TX. For more than 62 years he was the loving husband of Patsy June Thomas. After painting water towers as a young man he moved on to a career in manufacturing where he later retired. He was always an avid fisherman and sports fan rooting hard for the Razorbacks and the Dallas Cowboys. At 79, he was proud to be the youngest member of the Dirty Twenty fishing club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Watkins. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Thomas; daughter, Karen (Steve) Kelly of Siloam Springs; sister, Pat (Jim) Miles of Texas; 2 grandsons, Jeremy (Andrea) Bertschy of Centerton and Casey Kelly of Siloam Springs; and 4 great-grandchildren, Jaxon Bertschy of Centerton and Bekah, Rylee and Fletcher Kelly of Siloam Springs.
