Hazel Leanora Fielder, 92, of Rogers, AR, died January 28, 2023 at Circle of Life Hospice, Bentonville, Arkansas. Hazel was born March 20, 1930, in rural Van Buren County, Arkansas to Pearl Ennes Fielder and Ira N. Fielder.
She graduated as an Honor Graduate from Springdale Arkansas High School (1948) and attended Springfield, Missouri Business College and University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Hazel began a 36-year career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1951, retiring from their Little Rock Headquarters as State Contract Administrator and returned to Northwest Arkansas in 1991 where she worked as an insurance agent. She belonged to various women’s organizations in Little Rock and was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Rogers, AR, and the Benton County Democratic Women’s Club. She was actively involved in starting the Rogers Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, serving on the Board of Directors for four years from its inception in 1992. She was particularly proud to sign deeds and see families become first-time homeowners.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marie Morris and one niece and nephew.
She is survived by nephews and nieces, a host of cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
