Floyd Morris, Jr., 95, passed away from this life and went to his heavenly home on August 17, 2016. His gentle spirit came into this world on July 20, 1921, in Rogers, AR to Robert Floyd and Bertha Arletta Creech Morris. He was a lifetime resident of Rogers with a God-given talent as an artist. His senior year in high school he won first place in state competition for portrait and soap sculpture held by the University of Arkansas. He later became a portrait photographer and retouch artist making many people look the way they wished they looked naturally.
Floyd retired from Daisy Manufacturing, was a loving husband, kind hearted father, and loved to go fishing anytime he could.
He served our country as an Army Sergeant in both England and France during WWII and several years ago received a recognition certificate from the Embassy of France for his service to their country. Before coming back home he had met and married the sweetheart of his life, Suzanne LeCunff, in Paris on September 25, 1945.
Survivors include two sons, Tony and Danny of Rogers; one brother, Bill Morris of Rogers; daughter-in-law, Carol Morris of Rogers; and grandson, Jeremy Morris of Bella Vista. He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Pat; parents; brothers, Allen and Leroy; and sisters, Ruby Miller and Mildred Woods.
We would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation to our Dad's home health care nurse, Christine. The time you spent with him was irreplaceable and meant the world to him and us. Thank you so much for the respect and compassion you showed our Dad.
A visitation celebrating his life will be Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 5 until 7pm at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel.
