It is with profound sadness that we announce our beloved David Lewis Hopper received eternal blessing on April 11, 2025 at the age of 43. A pilot and longtime resident of Bentonville, David was a strong, resilient man, with one of the kindest, warmest hearts. He was always willing to give anything and everything to those closest to him.
David was born to Patrick and Kimberly Hopper in Canton, Ohio on July 18, 1981. He was baptized in the name of the Triune God in September 1981 at Lowell United Methodist in Canton, Ohio, and he was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, in Lawton, Oklahoma in 1998.
After growing up in Lawton, Oklahoma, David graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in aviation sciences, inspired by his father’s love for flying.
David spent time throughout his career instructing future pilots at OSU, flying for American Eagle Airlines and eventually joining Walmart Aviation, where he served both as a pilot and Director of Operations for the department.
David married his highschool sweetheart, Christine Jean (Mayer) Hopper on June 1, 2002 and have two amazing sons, Jacob and Corbin Hopper.
David will leave an irreplaceable hole in the hearts of all those he connected with throughout his life. We will always remember his adventurous spirit, charismatic nature and devotion to his loved ones.
A passionate pilot, music lover and aquatic activity enthusiast, David’s love of life, travel and family was infectious. His laughter, storytelling and love for all things OSU will forever be etched in our memories.
He was a beloved husband, loving father, supportive and encouraging brother to Jeff, and an incredible son. He inherited an amazing extended family with his in-laws Dick and Alice Mayer, brother-in-law Mark Mayer and his family, and cousins that felt more like brothers and sisters, Drew and Leslie Mayer, Paul and Kristin Mayer, and Bryan and Kati Evans and a niece and nephew, as well as numerous Godchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents Robert and Mildred Hopper, Roy and Claudette Forney and Herb Shreffler.
A memorial will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, in Pea Ridge, Arkansas on Friday, April 18 with visitation at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. under the care of Rollins Funeral Home, www.rollinsfuneral.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David’s name to the Messiah Lutheran Church.
