Born to Bennie Green Curtis and Virginia Blanch Curtis on July 23, 1951, Billy will be so dearly missed.
Billy was enlisted in the U.S. Army as a 13S Field Surveyor in the Field Artillery FA, C-battery HQ, and the 2-20 Field Artillery Battalion in Fort Carson, Colorado for most of his time in the service.
He was a man who loved God, family, and country deeply. Billy was a member of Cross Church for many years and was loved by all who knew him. Billy loved to laugh and make jokes with his grandchildren.
Billy was a master carpenter. He built many homes in and around Northwest Arkansas. He took great pride in his work and went to great measures to make sure a house was square and would last for 100 years or more. 'Overbuild Billy,' as he was known, was renowned for his craftsmanship and ability to make anything out of wood.
He was a gifted fisherman and outdoorsman. He started guiding at the age of 13 and knew the White River lakes better than just about anyone. Billy passed his love of time on the water down through his sons and grandchildren.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Virginia Curtis; son, Benjamin Leigh Curtis; sisters, Winnifred, Sue, Alice, Roberta, and Patty; and brother, James.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Peggy Irene Edgmon; sister, Peggy Roper (Steve); brother, Richard Curtis (Rita); sons, Cory Curtis (Heather), Mark Curtis, EJ Padilla (Jaime), Todd Padilla (Brandy); fifteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, with a visitation from noon to 1pm and a service starting at 1pm with full Military Honors. Services will be officiated by Pastor Harold McConnell.
