Bessie "Maxine" Montgomery, 85, our "firecracker," went home on July 4. She was born May 5, 1927, in Springfield, Mo. to Everett and Margaret (Kidwell) Schrills.

Survived by her children: Gene McMackin, Roy Hill, Peggy McGarrah and Mary Montgomery and siblings: Harold, Ruth and Pat. She also leaves her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Bessie's great granddaughter, Nevaeh Maxine Cooper was named for her.
