Jack was born in Gainesville and moved to Merritt Island from Orlando in 1964. He graduated from Merritt Island High School in 1974 and earned his degree in building construction from the University of Florida. Jack worked for SES Group as a Senior Program Manager in Cocoa after retiring from Patrick Air Force Base as a Deputy Base Civil Engineer. Jack was an avid hunter and voracious reader.
Jack is survived by his wife, Cathy; children, Clair and Bill Gibson; step-children, Beau Taylor and Calynn (Mitch) Gaither; brother, Jeff Gibson,; sister, Suzanna (Dale) Young; nieces, Ashley (Barry) Briggs, Amanda (Graham) Smith, and Jenna Young; nephews, James (Taylor) Young and Jackson Young; and grandchildren, Alayna and Connor Gaither.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Coastline Community Church, 399 East Eau Gallie Boulevard, Indian Harbour Beach.
