He is survived by his daughters Sally Walters (Mike) and Mary Brady, son-in-law Jon Hayakawa and 7 grandchildren, Jacob Holliday (Rich), Brian Walters (Tatiana), Christopher Hahs (Maryam),
Philip Hahs, Kaeleigh Hayakawa (Will Buckley), Hikaru Hayakawa, and Liam Hayakawa, and 5 great-grandchildren Emily, Michelle, Francis, Kilian, and Scheherazada.
He is predeceased by his parents, Ellsworth Brady and Flora (Stuhr), his wife Margaret (Maffett), and daughter Kathleen Brady.
After graduation from High School in Elsinore, California, he entered the Air Force in 1953. His career included 5 years in aircraft maintenance and inspection, and 20 years in ground radio electronics as a technician and supervisor. including 11 years in the Air Force Security Service holding various roles including technician, instructor, and maintenance control manager. He served at numerous stateside bases in Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Alaska, and New York and had overseas assignments in Italy and on Crete. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1978.
After leaving the Air Force, he worked for Perkin-Elmer Corporation as a supervisor, manufacturing engineer, and quality engineer, earning an ASQ CQE as well as an Associate in Science degree. He also worked for Scanivalve Corporation as Quality Assurance Manager.
Calling hours for Russell will be between the hours of 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial.
