Courtenay Springs in Merritt Island, Florida at the age of 88.
Robert, Bob to his friends and family, was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years,
Leona in 2022. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Dawn C. Meyer of Cape
Canaveral, FL and Michelle L. Smith of Wimberley, TX, his grandchildren Michele Morris of
Killeen, TX and Melissa Rioux of Spring, TX, and his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law as well as
by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express gratitude to the Hospice of St Francis staff of Merritt Island and
the Terrace at Courtenay Springs for the care they gave to Bob in his final days.
Bob was born in Cecil, Ohio on June 7, 1935. He and his wife moved to Indiana in 1974 and
later to Florida in 1985. He was an amazing and talented man who created many items that he
and his wife, Leona, sold at local craft fairs. He was also a Computer Programmer and Manager
in Indiana for BF Goodrich, Essex Wire and Phelps Dodge and later had a tool sharpening
business locally. He loved to spend time with his family and in nature. He was also a life member of the VFW 6441 of Wimberley, TX.
Friends and family will be received at the Florida Memorial Gardens Life Event Center, 5950
South US 1 in Rockledge, FL 32955 at 1 pm on January 4, 2024 with the service at 1:30 pm.
