It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Wilson announces his passing after struggling with several medical setbacks over the past year, on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at the age of 77 years.
While he was born in Canton, Illinois; Richard always called Florida his home. He went to school at Largo high where he held a record for shot put record.
Richard worked for Lockheed Martin as a Vehicle Test Coordinator and Program Planner for over 35 years. He worked on both coasts of the US and abroad. His most notable accomplishment and one that he was so very proud of was his work on the Hubble Telescope Launch.
Richard will be lovingly remembered by the most important person in his life, his love, his support, his champion, his partner, his nurse, and his best friend and wife of 19 years, Joyce Wilson and his daughter, Sharon and his sons Ray, Paul, Tim, David, Trey and James.
Richard (Grandpa, Poppi) will also be missed terribly by his 20 grandchildren, Angelo, Christina, Ray, Robert, Gloria, Courtney, Brett, Nicholas, Timothy, Savanna, Nichole, Haleigh, Makenzie, Gracie, Jacob, Lexie, Peyton, Jayden, Jax, Michael and his 7 Great-Grandchildren, Zackary, Robert, Sean, Zeke, Zeena, Amerine & Aelaria.
A Memorial Service for Richard will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd at 2:00 p.m., at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 US-1 S Rockledge, FL 32955 with Pastor Hodges presiding.
