While born in Orlando, Florida, Newell spent many years in Birmingham, Alabama, where he met his bride.
He then moved back to Florida and eventually to Rockledge, Florida, from 1971-2005, where he was the founder/owner of Brand Transfer and Storage Company, which is still in business more than 50 years later. Newell enjoyed golfing nd traveling out west. He made countless trips to his favorite vacation spot, Lake Tahoe. Once he retired, he made it a priority to take many family members to Lake tahoe, so they too could enjoy its beauty. He was a tried-and-true Alabama sports fan, even after attending rivalry Auburn University. It was rare to find Newell without wearing some type of Alabama attire. He was a devout Catholic and planted his roots at St. John the Evangelist Church in Viera. In his recent days, he proudly proclaimed his salvation and trust in Jesus Christ. Newell never met a stranger and never slowed down. He was still cooking gourmet meals (at which he was a master) until his last few days on earth.
Newell's presence in his family's life will be missed tremendously but they find comfort knowing he is in heaven with his sweetheart, his parents, and his heavenly Father.
