

Nancy was born on April 13, 1933 to Italian immigrants, Rocco and Maria Savino in Brooklyn, New York; the youngest of four sisters. She was raised in Brooklyn where she attended and finished school.
Nancy was a lively, independent and strong willed woman. She was energetic and friendly, never hesitating to strike up a conversation or say hello to people anywhere she went. She loved to travel and read and was a skilled quilter.
Nancy spent her career working in libraries and doing secretarial work, achieving many certifications along the way. Nancy dedicated her life to serving others, volunteering for many charities and organizations throughout her lifetime. She was especially passionate about her work in the Melbourne community and service to the Catholic Church.
While working as a young secretary in New York, Nancy and her friends wrote letters to the soldiers overseas in the Korean War. This is how she met the love of her life, James P. McMahon. After returning home from service Jim and Nancy soon became friends and fell in love. They were married on November 21, 1953. They had two children, Jeanne and Brian. Jim was an accountant for Kraft Foods and they moved frequently, spending time living in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Illinois, enjoying a few beach vacations in between. In 1992 Nancy and Jim moved to Melbourne, FL to spend their retirement years together.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Jim, her three sisters Mary, Phil and Vita and their spouses, several nephews and a niece.
She is survived by her two children, Jeanne (Michael) Saunders; (West Fargo, ND), Brian (Abi) McMahon; (Aliso Viejo, CA), granddaughter Lisanne Saunders; (Fargo, ND), and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
