Nancy Jane Mann-Houser

Nancy Jane Mann-Houser, 91, died at Holmes Regional Medical Center from natural causes on May 16, 2023. Born June 26, 1931, in Athens County, Nelsonville, OH. Survived by daughter, Marcia Rector (Raymond) of New Port Richey, FL; son, Roger Mann, Jr (Anna) of Springfield, VA; daughter, Sara Copenhaver (Chip) of Hilliard, OH; brother, Daniel Shafer of Poulsbo, WA; niece, Debra Mitchell of New Port Richey, FL; granddaughter, Ashley McLaughlin (Scott) of Gahanna, OH; grandson, Cole Dorco (Allison) of Hilliard, OH; grandson, Tyler Copenhaver of Galloway, OH; grandson, Boyd Copenhaver (Brittany) of Plain City, OH, grandson, Ryan Rector (Cassie) of London, OH; granddaughter, Megan Rector (Kelson) of Valrico, FL; and numerous great- & great-great-grandchildren, nephews & nieces.

Preceded in death by husband, Roger Mann, Sr., of 48 years, and husband, Lyle Houser, of 22 years; parents, George and Emma Shafer of Nelsonville, OH; and sister, Marilyn Radosevich of New Port Richey, FL.

She attended Ohio Dominican College, Columbus, OH, and was a 1949 graduate from North High School.

A descendant of The Daniel Nelson Family, who founded Nelsonville, OH, and the Fisk Family, she was a member of National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, Nabby Lee Ames Chapter, in Athens, Ohio.

She served as Worthy Matron with her husband as Worthy Patron, Roger Mann, Sr, for the Order of Eastern Star, Lorraine Chapter, Columbus, OH. She was a member of the Clintonville Women’s Club, Columbus, OH, and the Park of Roses Society, Columbus, OH.

Lyle Houser passed away on May 7, 2023 and Nancy passed away 9 days later on May 16, 2023. Their strong, endearing love for each other was the strength in bonding both their families. They will be greatly missed by everyone who knew them.

The family thanks Holmes Regional Medical Center’s ICU staff for their excellent care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Maple Grove United Methodist Church (7 W. Henderson Rd. Columbus, Ohio) on September 22, 2023 at 10am with final interment at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway, Ohio.

Family requests donations be made to the Columbus Park of Roses Society in lieu of flowers.
