She will always be remembered for her quick wit and kind heart. She was born in Spring Hope, North Carolina where she met her one true love and husband Ira.
She is survived by her daughter, Genia Lavery and son-in-law, Don Lavery; her grand child, Sadie, the beloved dog.
When their best friends moved to Florida in 1956, Miriam, Ira and their daughter Genie came for a visit. One week later they were packed and moving to Florida and Ira was starting his new job at the Cape.
Once settled in Indialantic, Miriam quickly made friends and developed many new hobbies, which included ceramics, decoupage, , sewing for her daughter and stained glass. She joined a bridge club and played every week for many years.
As a family, they enjoyed camping, boating and fishing, and traveling around the country.
When she and Ira moved to Sun Tree, they became avid golfers. She became quite good, and even made a hole-in-one!
Later in life, she moved to Orlando to be with her daughter Genie and her Son-In-Law, Don. While in Orlando she enjoyed boating, attending Broadway Shows and dining out every Saturday. One of her best friends in Orlando was her grand dog, Sadie, who was constantly by her side.
She will be deeply missed by her friends and family, but perhaps mostly remembered as a wonderful and loving Mother.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL.
