Marie Davis, 91, of Melbourne, passed away on Friday, January 29th, 2021, at The Brennity at Melbourne, Florida. Marie was born on November 16th, 1929, in New York, New York, and came to Brevard County in 1995 from Martha’s Vineyard, Mass. She was a well-studied woman with many different passions. Early in life, she worked as a medical social worker. Eventually, she served as the administrative coordinator of the National Foundation of Birth Defects at the University of Florida and taught there as an assistant professor of pediatrics. Later in life, she became a homemaker and mother to seven children.
Marie is survived by her sons Stephen Vaugh of Palm Bay, FL and Alex Vaughn of Hernando, FL; five step-children Geoff Davis of California, Brad S. Davis of Stuart, FL, Robin Raclaw of Oregon, WI, Lindsay Loyd of Reston, VA, and Parri Davis of Tennessee; as well as her seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She had a wonderful, full life. She loved traveling the world and when at home was a docent at the Brevard Zoo. She was an amazing and adventurous woman and will be missed dearly by her friends and family.

A visitation is being held at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL, on February 8th, 2021, at 11:30 am, followed by a funeral service at noon. Interment is at Florida Memorial Gardens following the Service.
