Laurel June Crowe

Laurel, along with her twin sister Lois, were born to amazing parents Orel (Red) & Lila June (Norton) Christianson in Lanesboro, MN on September 19, 1939, and moved to Stewartville as a young girl with her family, where she grew up and attended Stewartville schools.

In 1956, she married Harvey Weaver, and they welcomed three children into their lives, Richard (Jane) Weaver, of Stewartville; son, Donovan (Susan) Weaver of Nashville, Tenn.; and daughter, Lois Steele (Ron) Skitowski, of Satellite Beach, Fla. Laurel and Harvey later divorced.

In 1965 Laurel married Gene S. Crowe and they welcomed a baby boy, Napoleon (Lisa) Crowe. In 1973, Gene, Laurel and the kids moved to Florida where they continued with the cemetery business and became owners of Florida Memorial Gardens & owned multiple cemeteries in the Nashville area.

She volunteered at Holmes ER as an Auxiliarian, Daily Bread, Cold Nite Shelter, Yellow Umbrella and was an Eau Gallie Yacht Club Member since 1974 & a 10 year member of Guardian Ad Litem, where she loved helping children.

Laurel was the life of the party and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also loved traveling around the world and going on cruises with her twin sister Lois Chilson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, parents & twin sister Lois.

In addition to Laurel’s children, she leaves behind Grandchildren, Jeff (Nicky) Espinosa, Chasity Weaver, Jacob (Bobbie) Weaver, Samantha (Corey) Grzybowski, Lucas & Lockland Crowe and Austin (Samantha) & Anthony Skitowski.

Great-grandchildren, Gabby (Colin) Espinosa, Christopher (Haley) Espinosa, Austin Hails, Talon Kildahl, Kainen & Konnor Grzybowski, Gracie & Acesyn Schwering.

Laurel’s family would like to thank all the Doctors & Nurses that cared for her & all the staff at William Childs Hospice House who took care of her in her final days.
