From as little as I can remember, you were always there when needed. We needed a family, you made us your family, to be safe, you protected us,  to eat, you provided unlimited meals, ones we had to always finish, couldn’t get up until our plate was clean (lo), made sure we had everything we needed to be successful growing up, only ever wanting us to be our best, to do our best and always give 110%. You gave us love when we didn’t feel it, always showing up for us for sports, scouts, Indian Maidens, whatever it was you were there to help and guide. You have taught me so much, the list can go on, but I know one thing I didn’t get from you was how to live without you here, with our daily calls, the “Hey Girl, what are you up to?” or sharing what we had for dinner, how you always wanted me to mail you a meal, you were so serious with putting it on dry ice. Asking me how the weather is, and I can say it’s a beautiful day, a sunny, hot day, you would love it cause you always would say you didn’t like the cold. I find myself picking up the phone wanting to call you or saying I haven’t called my Dad in few days. To get your advice, you were always good at that. To hear your voice, I miss you so much and you’re on my mind. I love you bunches.

What I love about Mr Berry (called him that my whole life) was the precious gift he gave me. He told me he wanted me to meet his new daughter Tina. We were the same age and he thought I would like her. The day I met her she was sweeping the floor in her new bedroom and we just looked at each other.  It wasn’t long before I was spending the night, sweeping the floors, washing the dishes, drinking his milk, and eating way too many pancakes.  Insane amounts of pancakes and insane amount of dishes. I learned quickly to take off my shoes and make my bed FIRST thing when I got up in the morning. When he married Jean he became Dad to 5 children (6 if you count me) that he did not have to, but he did with his whole heart. I remember when 5 kids named Pemberton became five kids named Berry. As a child I did what he said to do because he said so. As an adult I see the honor in everything he did and made us do. Late one night I asked him if he ever went to bed.  He said he didn’t need that much sleep. Looking back I see why he didn’t sleep. Who in their right mind would dare to sleep with all us kids running all through the night. Rest easy now Mr. Berry. You taught us all well and we will honor you by being the kind, respectful people you showed us how to be. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. ♥️

One of my many memories Dad is when you were truck driving and would drive through Alabama and stop by to visit and stay the night. The kids love having you there as well as Ken and I.  Making your favorite meal,  meals on the road weren’t the same as home cooking you said. Packing up some food to go  for your next destination. Watching you bond with the kids every second you could.  Your laughter, their giggles, the rough housing around, the stories you told us while being on the road. Driving through the cold states- you did not like the cold or snow. Memories I will forever cherish.

One of my best memories was our vacation -me, mom, dad, Aunt Jean and Uncle Ken took together! He was always such a fun, funny, guy w a big caring heart. Then when I had my daughter he truly loved and cared for her w/o ever meeting her face to face! That was and always will be so special and appreciated!!  I wish that could’ve happened but I kno we will all be together 1 day and he’s enjoying being back w Aunt Jean and dad! ♥️

Dad- going out to dinner was one of your favorite things to do with the family. It was a must when coming from out of town. We always gathered, talked, joked and would reminisce about the old times. I will forever miss the special time together. Oh, and how you joked with  the servers and made them work for their tip. 😜

Our fondest memories are sharing family events with you. You always made us feel like family and for that we are forever grateful.  Kellydude and I will miss those times. Enjoy your heavenly adventures  with your beautiful Jean. Until we meet again
