Kay Leyte-Vidal, born in Glencoe, Ohio, in 1943, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family after a long illness. She was the cherished daughter of Kenneth and Bernice Patterson and grew up alongside her siblings, Kenneth Patterson of Michigan, and her late brother and sister, Perry Patterson and Pamela Lyons, both of Maryland.
Kay was a devoted mother to her three children: Kathy Easter of South Carolina, Suzanne Vidal Ramsey of Florida, and James Leyte Vidal, also of Florida. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Blake Easter, Danielle Corley, Riley Ramsey, Kaycie Ramsey, Abigail Leyte-Vidal, Michael Leyte-Vidal, Catherine Leyte-Vidal, and Brandon Leyte-Vidal and one great-granddaughter, Ada Corley. She dedicated her time and love to her grandchildren, who were the focus of her life. Additionally, she held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren by marriage and cherished her nieces and nephews deeply.
Kay briefly worked as a bank teller before dedicating herself wholeheartedly to her family following the birth of her first child. After relocating to Florida, she contributed her time and talents in a part-time role at her husband’s medical practice, where her caring nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Kay's life was a testament to laughter and love for family. She will be remembered not only for her dedication to her loved ones but also for her radiant smile. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and she will be deeply missed.
In honor of Kay’s memory, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care or the Alzheimer's Association.
