By far, the most important thing to Karen was her love for Jesus. She shared that devotion with her children, raising them to serve the Lord with the same enthusiasm that she did. Karen was most proud of her adoring family.
There are many attributes that would describe Karen, not the least of which was her giving nature. Karen would gladly give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She was an avid collector, and found peace and solace finding that perfect Longaberger basket to add to her growing collection, or a pair of flip-flops that caught her eye. She was creative, kind, fun loving, beautiful and warm-hearted.
Karen's devotion to her husband, Jimmie, was evident early on in their relationship. Their love for one another began as the quintessential American love story would - He, a football star, and she, Captain of the Cheerleading Squad. Karen began raising their family as a devoted mother and wife while Jimmie was serving two overseas tours in the military. They've remained life partners ever since.
Together, Karen and her family made yearly camping trips to Destin, Florida to visit family members. These memories and so many more will be cherished by her loving family forever.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation gathering being held on Saturday, August 14 at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 S US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm with a Celebration of Life beginning at 3:00pm.
Karen will be laid to rest at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at a date yet to be determined.
