He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
"Gus" was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1939 and married his childhood sweetheart Judy, to whom he was married 52 years. Together they had Five children (Debbie, Scott, Heather, Mark and Jarl) and were blessed with four Grandsons (Mason, Maxwell, Gavin and Markus).
He spent his career serving our country in the Air Force and retired with many accolades and accomplishments. Among the most prestigious and favored were The Legion of Merit, The Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal and The Distinguished Public Service Medal awarded by NASA.
He was best known by his family and friends to have a keen intellect and wit. He was a great Trivial Pursuit partner...but not so much at Pictionary. He was a stock market wiz, private pilot, scuba diver, Jimmy Buffett lover and provided a wonderful life for his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations in Jarl's name to Snt Jude's Childrens Hospital, Doctors Without Borders or the Wounded Warrior Project (or any charity of your choice).
