Nursing aide and lifelong volunteer, Jane “Mickey” Furman’s generous spirit didn’t end with her death. Mickey passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Rockledge, FL at the age of 80 following a battle with cancer, surrounded endlessly by loved ones who connected with her sassy New York soul. Mickey will be fondly remembered by her big-hearted legacy and big laughter personality.
Mickey graduated from Lawrence High School in Nassau County, NY and lived close to family for many years. Finding the love of her life in Florida native Donald Furman, at retirement they left New York for Florida for their golden years.
She is preceded in death by her dedicated husband Don and her adoring siblings Joan Poretta, Arthur “Buddy” Thomas, Jr., and Carol Goldberg. Mickey is survived by her granddaughter Jessica, several nieces and nephews including Marie and Debbie, and a wealth of friends.
Friends and family will be received at Florida Memorial Gardens (5950 US-1, Rockledge, FL 32955) on Friday, October 1, 2021 12-2 pm with a reception at Christ Central Church (2010 N Cocoa Blvd, Cocoa, FL 32922) to follow.
