James K. (Ken) Smith passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 at his home in Melbourne, FL. Ken was born May 14, 1941 and grew up in Panama City, FL. As a young adult he moved to Brevard County and spent more than 40 Years in the banking industry in Brevard and Indian River Counties. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia Banking School. Ken also served in the U.S. Army. After retirement Ken enjoyed fishing, traveling in his motor home and spending time in his “man cave” at his home on his beloved river.
Ken is survived by his wife, Edna Fairbanks, children Corey Smith (Vidette) of Orlando, Kellie Webster (Brandon) of Ft. Mill, SC, Dennis Fairbanks, Patricia Fairbanks both of Melbourne, Joe Fairbanks (Dee)of Colorado Springs, CO, grandchildren, Brandi, Corey and Olivia Webster, Megan Riviezzo (Ed) and great-grandchildren Gunner and Archer Riviezzo, two nephews Lee and Jim Smith and a niece Yvonne Rack.
A Celebration of Ken’s life will be held from 4-6pm on Tuesday, May 15 at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial in Rockledge.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ken’s name to Candle Lighters of Brevard, Indialantic or Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice.
