He was a pipefitter/welder for many years. He was born in Chicago, IL and came to Brevard County in 1986 from Coal City, IL. He worked for the Steamfitters and Pipefitters Union.
He was a member of Club Zion Church in Cocoa Beach. He was a strong believer in the Lord and he and his wife loved Israel.
He also worked as an actor, a salesman, a prison chaplain, and security for Port Canaveral. He enjoyed playing racquetball, fishing, sailing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, of 42 years; Denny McDowell of Rockledge, FL, sons; Matt McDowell (Nakadia) of Sanford, FL, Luke McDowell (Jacqui) of Ariton, AL, and Bart McDowell of Colorado Springs, CO, and 13 grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11am at The Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 US HWY 1, Rockledge, FL 32955.
