I worked with Jim at Goodrich.  We shared our love/hate of the NY Jets.  He was a great guy.  I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Jim was so very kind. I don't recall ever seeing him angry. He helped me in many ways. He gave me a free place to stay for months when I came to Charlotte. He was the reason I didn't give up on my relationship with my girlfriend, who is now my wife. I remember him holding my daughter for the first time. I remember saying, "Say 'Hi' to uncle Jim!" I now have so much joy in my life, because he truly listened and truly cared. He was so funny, witty... flat out, entertaining. I loved watching him do his favorite dance move... the "Who's that behind me?" The constant volley of rips and digs between him, Mike McGuiness and Jared Kostick when they got together.  My 10 year old son, while playing a game, calling him "DC." Watching him point out to his brother Ed, with just a tap on his chest, reminding him who was captain of their high school football team. Just a few memories that stand out. Not enough space for any of us to thank him enough for the blessing he was. I will miss you my friend.

My heart hurts because we lost a very special  person. My thoughts  and prayers to the rest of the family.
 Jimmy,  you gave us great memories that we will keep in our hearts always.
May you rest in the arms of an Angel, in peace.

When I met husband Anthony he was living with Fleming aka DC(sorry that’s how i know him). He was warm and welcoming to me from day one. He was  a groomsman at our wedding and a good friend to everyone he loved. DC was super smart, thoughtful, quick witted and down right hilarious....Like belly laugh funny.. He would sit with me and talk and listen. He was a good listener. I looked forward to seeing him when we visited Charlotte at one of Mike and Liz’s get togethers. Those parties kept us connected. We were happy he relocated where we had family and could still see him from time to time as he lived nearby in his  “Christmas” themed neighborhood. 

I will never forget how he always said how happy he was that Anthony and I found each other. He wasn’t afraid to show his emotions and express his love for his friends. He will be missed. Sorry i couldn’t come to Florida to say good bye and pay my respects but my husband is there with his brother Mike,  Liz and their family to represent all of us in NY who loved him. Rest In Peace. 

Jim had been one of my best friends since my early college days. We had transferred into Albany at the same time and became fast friends. We maintained our close friendship throughout the years and I can’t imagine my life without him. He was truly the funniest guy who could light up a room. I can’t believe he isn’t here anymore, but I am so thankful for the many fond, hilarious and warm memories he’s left us with. I miss you already, Fleming. Love you buddy. 

Uncle Jimmy was a great person. He had a heart of gold and was an amazing Uncle. He taught me how to play football when I was young. He tried to get me to be a Jets fan but I ended up becoming a Giants fan so we had some fun trash talking each other during football season. We had some amazing Wiffle Ball games together in front of Grandma Ann's house.  He was God Father to my daughter Leah. He got her an Irish cross and had it blessed by the priest on her baptism day. I'll never forget how thoughtful that was. He taught me some valuable life lessons. I remember driving up to Albany to watch him play college football. Looking back, I can't say I have a bad memory of him. I wish he were still here. I miss him. He is in a better place with his parents now. One day we will see each other again Uncle Jimmy. I'll bring a football and a Wiffle ball & bat so we can play like old times. I love you Uncle Jimmy. 

Jim is a close college friend of my sister and brother in law and I had the privilege of getting to know him through them when he moved to Charlotte. I have had many lengthy conversations with Jim over the years at social gatherings and can say with absolute clarity how intelligent, worldly and quick witted he was. Jim was always so nice to me and his passing has come way too soon. I know his close friends are devastated which speaks to just how much he was loved by many. Rest In Peace buddy, I'm glad I had the opportunity to get to know you.

When Jim was little and visiting Uncle Al (my Grandfather) the twins were so flawed when the mail lady (  Terry my sister) walked onto the house and opened the fridge and made herself lunch.  The boys kept saying their mailman  doesn't do that. Love to all. Grandpa loved the story
