If you didn't know Grace, you would have loved her. If you knew her, you did. Everyone loved Grace. She was smart (and not just medium smart, VERY smart), funny, friendly, spunky, kind, honest, classy, generous, warm, and direct. You never had to wonder what was on her mind. Grace was also tough. She came from a big New York City Irish family. Her father died when she was young, her girlhood was not easy, and she came of age just in time for the Great Depression. But she worked her way out of it. She earned a Master's Degree from Fordham, worked for the Long Island Railroad, and taught in the New York City public school system, a job for which her personality mixture was quite useful. Grace also became an amateur pilot. Sometimes she'd fly round-trips from White Plains to Albany just for fun. Grace loved household gadgets and electronics, sweets, sitting outside in the sun, and her family and friends. Grace and her husband Bill retired to Florida in the 1970s, and now they’ll be buried there, side by side. Goodbye my dear. We loved you and we’ll miss you.
