Born on July, 27 1926 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to his parents, Dorothy and George Oldenburg. Beloved husband of Beverly Dorn from Milwaukee. The Oldenburg’s originally resided in Milwaukee where George worked at the Chicago & North Western Railroad and Beverly worked for the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department. The Oldenburgs later moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1970.
Mr. Oldenburg was also a WWII Army Veteran that saw service in the WWII SW Pacific campaign with the 25th infantry division and was honorably discharged at Koromo Japan. He then re-enlisted and was sent to Boca Raton Army Air Field in Florida where he joined the SeaBee’s guarding the Florida SE coastline. Mr. Oldenburg was awarded two Bronze Stars and WWII Victory Medal for his outstanding service.
Mr. Oldenburg is survived by his two daughter’s Georganne and Beverly and his son Herb, his sister Dorothy Hanson, six grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A devoted father and friend to all.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, October 24 from 10-11am, followed by a celebration on life at 11am at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mr. Oldenburg’s life. Prayers, condolences and memories are all gladly accepted.
Mr. Oldenburg will be laid to rest at a later date in a private ceremony in Pompano Beach at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
