Missing Gail on the anniversary of her leaving us.  Dearest Gail - there is much you will be glad you are missing - I'm glad for your sake that your spirit is in a better place.

I can’t believe it has been a year since we lost you. And considering where we are right now I honestly thing you left at the right time. I’m sure you are resting easy now, my friend. We miss you!

Gail was my "Big Sister" at Northwestern, a year ahead of me and designated to show me the ropes, which she did with flair. She always had a million activities swirling around her. I later knew her after college when she was in Portland, Oregon and I was in Seattle. That's when I learned about her interest in nature and ecology. We took a country walk and she picked wild herbs, wild camomile and the like. She had boundless energy.

I have known Gail since she was an undergraduate at Northwestern University. She was both brilliant and beautiful, a trusted companion and friend. She had both intelligence and wit, and coupled those with with a questing spirit which enriched the lives of her friends and followers. She leaves a gap which no one but she can fill. God love her.

I knew Gail well in Portland and have been in touch regularly with her in Florida. I've even made great friends on Facebook with other Florida folks via links to her. 
... Gail was such a truly passionate person in every interest and endeavor. Among those, her passionate love for preserving and protecting nature in all its elements was a prime passion. And unlike most folks, she steadfastly lived those passions with actual hands-on advocacy and participation. She took part in many land use and resource hearings, protected the nesting turtles on the beach, worked to save the lagoon, and much, much more.
... Among many other fond things I'm recalling about dear Gail at this moment  are these: her frequent photo  postings of her sunrise walks on the shore, which I often reposted; her metaphysical postings; her forceful speaking to Florida's resource issues on her page; her never hesitating to candidly let me have it if she disagreed with me about something; and the times she'd urge me to hug a tree -- to quite literally hug one and draw from its energy, as she often did.
.... Thank you forever Gail. And may we live on to provide even a fraction of the inspiration and world stewardship you did..🐢🐦🐸🐟🐾🌐

One of the kindest individual I've ever met. When conversing with Gail, you could not help but feel her warmth and sincerity.  I will surely miss her.


Gail was a true leader. She never waited for someone to tell her how to accomplish something. She saw a need and took action. She was a sister in the fight for clean water and I will miss her. I am thankful for all she gave to the effort and she will be missed dearly. 

Gail was a tireless advocate for the environment. I worked with her at the DECF (Environmental Caucus), and always had pleasant conversations with her, most recently last month as we were discussing Brevard's Membership and the upcoming plans for her chapter. She will be missed, Rest in peace to her and condolences to the family.


Gail was my first friend when I moved to Portland, Oregon  in my mid-20s.  She lived in a rented house at Mt. Tabor and later bought a small log home on 10 acres outside Newberg.

I visited her often and enjoyed her kindness and inspiring creativity. Gail was very beautiful and had a magical way about her that attracted many friends to her.

One of my favorite memories of Gail  was when I asked her to accompany me to male strip
show that The Oregonian newspaper sent me to with a photographer to create a story. 
Her favorite was a blonde fellow with “hair like spun sugar.”

By then we were in our 30s and establishing our careers. I believe she was a public relations person for the Portland Park Bureau. Later she sold her log home and moved to the Lair Hill area where she ran her own day care center.

Once she moved to Florida we eventually found each other on Facebook. I loved staying in touch and hearing about her passion advocating  for the lagoon, and turtles.

She was a dear friend to me. I will always keep her memory in my heart. I am so sorry that her family and friends are suffering her loss.
