Ernesto V. Cruz

MELBOURNE- Passed on November 3, 2022 at the age of 76. Ernesto will be tenderly remembered by the love of his life of 53 years, Editha. Loving father to Ernest (April), Elaine (Mark) and Jay (Melanie). Dear grandfather to their children Evan, Nina, Charlie, Rowan, Dayne, Madyn and Olivia. As one of 10 children himself, he is also survived by his mother Lolita Cruz and other siblings in the U.S. and Philippines.

Ernesto was born in Bautista, Pangasinan Philippines. He joined the U.S. Navy, traveling all over the world serving his country before finally calling Virginia home for 37 years. It was here where his devotion to faith lead to his membership in the Knights of the Columbus (Council 12378) and becoming a lector for Our Lady of Namacpacan as well as a eucharistic minister at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. In 2021, he moved to Florida to enjoy the closeness of family for whom his love was abounding.

A visitation for Ernesto will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Life Event Center At Florida Memorial, 5950 S US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955. A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 5655 Stadium Park Way, Rockledge, FL 32940.
