Elsie was born on August 14, 1932 at the home of her parents, Albert and Johanna Geigle, north of Quinn, SD. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church north of Quinn. Having been educated in Quinn, Elsie and her three sisters spent much of their time working on the family farm where she became an accomplished equestrian and sheepherder.
She married Allen Morrison on July 12, 1953. They began their military life at Ellsworth AFB in SD and started a family. They traveled extensively with the Air Force and were stationed in the United States and overseas. In the summer of 1968, they made their final move to Patrick AFB in FL where Allen retired and the family settled in Melbourne. After raising their children, Elsie began a career with American Greetings maintaining the card departments at various retail stores. Elsie was a member of Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Palm Bay, Fl.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Minnie Johnson and Violet Denke, her husband Allen of 64 years; daughter, Connie Stephans and grandson, Donnie(Olivia) Krueger.
Elsie is survived by her sister, Ruth Denke of Rapid City, SD; her children: Dale (Christina) Morrison, Vonda (Danny) Barkley and Thomas (Lori) Morrison; grandchildren: Jennifer Watson, David (Romey)Coyle, Olivia Krueger, Brian (Erika) Krueger, Michele Rozynski, Danny Coyle, Aaron Patterson, Megan Morrison, Sara Morrison and Paul Morrison. She was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren.
Thank you to Indian River Center and Vitas Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of our beloved Elsie. Your encouragement and support will not be forgotten. A special thank you for Elsie’s caregivers; Granddaughter Michele Rozynski who cared for Elsie for close to 4 years and to Christina Morrison for her help and assistance with Elsie’s care. Also, thank you to Pastor Curt Heydt of Faith Viera Lutheran Church for Elsie’s spiritual care.

A Celebration of Life for Elsie will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 S US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida.
