Edward William Dias, 86, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024, in Melbourne, Florida. Born on November 4, 1938, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Edward was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda G. Dias, and his children: Edward Dias (Diane), Matthew Dias (Holly), Christopher Dias (Melanie), Paula Dias (Lynette), Tanya Tubbs (John), and Suzanne Juliana (Dan). Edward was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Gertrude Dias, and his sisters, Sheryl Baer and Connie Johnson.
A proud Army veteran, Edward served honorably in the Vietnam War and continued his service until retirement. His dedication to his country inspired his children, all of whom served in the military, with Matthew and Christopher becoming veterans of foreign wars. The Dias family's legacy of service spans over a century.
Edward and Linda shared a profound love for family, which was central to their lives. Together, they supported their community generously, contributing to food banks and local churches. Edward was also an active and respected member of the IRCC Community, VFW, American Legion, and the Elks Lodge, where he was known for his welcoming spirit and warm friendships.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 S US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955, on November 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with a viewing beginning at 1:00 p.m.
