Carl is survived by his wife of 53 years, Frances Ann, and their beloved dog, Max. As well as his son, Neal, of Rockledge; daughter-in-law, Shannon; and his brother, Lester, of Monticello.
He was born and raised in Monticello, Florida, where he graduated from Jefferson County High School. Following High School, Carl served in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division. After his military service, he expanded his knowledge and proficiency of cutting edge high frequency radio, radar, and telemetry principles at Southern Tech, in Georgia. He was then hired by Department of Defense contractors to help create and maintain the Range Safety Display Systems used on the United States Air Force Eastern Test Range. He served as the Chief Systems Technician at Canaveral Air Force Station for 46 years.
He had a great passion for flying Cessna and Piper aircraft recreationally, although he possessed a Commercial Pilot’s License. He loved spending time with his family and close friends. Carl kept a small circle, and touched the lives of those around him in his own unique and special way. He will be deeply missed. He was of Christian faith.
Carl will be honored and laid to rest at 1:30 PM on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, FL 32754.
Flowers may be sent to the Life Event Center, 5950 US-1, Rockledge, FL 32955. Please, no glass or ceramic vases, as they are not permitted at the cemetery.
