Betty was the perfect wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother -- kind, loving, gentle, never judgmental, never angry. Always providing comfort, nourishment and love to her family members. Very little of her life was focused on herself. She was always thinking about what she could do for someone else.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ron; children, Don (Donna), Steve (Debbie), and Ronda (Chris); grandchildren, Robbie, Patrick, Jesse, Jerrid, Mitch and Chase; great-grandchildren, Kelby, Peighton, Hannah, Julia, Colton, Haylee, and Cash. Betty had many friends, all of whom were Friends-for-life.
Betty was born on December 24, 1937 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Her family moved to Miami, graduating from Tech High School in 1954. She married Ron in Miami on November 4, 1955. After raising three children as a stay-at-home mom and Avon representative, Betty got a job with SunTrust Bank, where she worked for fifteen years, retired as a Head Teller in 1999. She then spent her time helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known to them as their beloved "Memaw". She attended Central Baptist Church for 12 years, then Tabernacle Church for 12 years. She was loved and respected by members of both churches. Her favorite sport was bowling. She was an excellent bowler and had many close bowling friends in the Melbourne area bowling community. She retired from bowling because of a knee injury. Her retiring average was 175. Many of her friends are from the church, bank and bowling community. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
