Anne Maltese, age 95, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in Melbourne, Florida. She was the third child of Nicola and Marie Gaeta, born on September 22, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York. She was married for 64 years to Joseph Maltese. During her life, she worked in a variety of secretarial jobs in New York City, at Sayville Schools on Long Island, New York and for 21 years at Kinderdance International in Melbourne, Florida. She was a talented craftsperson with crochet, knitting, needle crafts, and cross stitching. She loved to read, do crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and her biggest enjoyment was playing bingo!
She will be dearly missed by her two daughters - JoAnn (Norm) Meaker, Catherine Maltese in Melbourne, FL, and son Richard (Karen) Maltese in Roanoke, Virginia; her five grandchildren - Christopher (Heather) Meaker in Richmond Virginia; Scott (Jenna) Meaker in Seattle, Washington; Michael Maltese; Stephanie (Stephen) Longoria in Roanoke Virginia, and Andrew Higdon (Clara Adams) in Melbourne, Florida; and her four greatgrandchildren - Alex Meaker, Lauren Meaker, Ethan Meaker and Luca Higdon; her niece Maryann Gaeta and nephews Joey and Jerry Gaeta and other numerous nieces and nephews
The family will celebrate her 95 years of life with a gathering at the Life Event Center, Dignity Memorial Gardens 5950 S. US Hwy 1, Rockledge on March 29th at 11:30 am with a reception immediately following.
