Wayne Keen

Wayne S. Keen, 86, of Rockford, Illinois, was united with Jesus on the evening of Friday, September 29, 2023, at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Wayne was born to Robert and Eliza (Yates) Keen on February 1, 1937, in Wilson, Arkansas. Wayne married the love of his life, Doris Jean, on June 29, 1957 in Rockford. He spent his entire career in heat treating, retiring from W.A. Whitney Co.

Wayne enjoyed fishing and hunting whenever he had the opportunity. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and looked forward to each moment spent with them. Above all, Wayne was a man of his faith, and was a devoted member of Riverside Assembly of God for over 15 years.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Kevin (Debbie) Keen; daughter-in-law, Kim Keen; grandchildren, Krystle (Thomas) Weightman, Angie (James) Dock, Victoria Brunner, Allen (Lindsey) Keen; great-grandchildren, Kryin Dock, Journee Dock, Jeeona Dock, Alivia Weightman, Easton Weightman, Jaevin Harrison, and Embyr Brunner.

He was reunited with his wife, Doris Keen; son, Daniel Keen; brothers, Garl Keen, Wilford Keen, Robert Keen and Paul Keen.

The family would like to personally thank each and every caregiver from Fairhaven and Unity for their kindness and support in Wayne’s transition. A private entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
