Virginia "Ginny" Thurmond Wilcox

Born January 20, 1930, in Lauderdale County, TN, to Alfred Lee and Bertha Dora (Graddy) Thurmond.

She married Odie B. Wilcox on April 23, 1948.

They moved to Rockford in 1955 where she was employed by Atwood for 32 years.

She was a faithful member of Pine Grove Methodist Church for many years.

“Ginny”, as she was affectionately referred to as, loved life and her family meant the world to her. She was young at heart and when she entered her smile and laughter would light up the room.

She was greatly loved and will be missed by so many lives she touched. Her strength, courage, and unconditional love will be a part of her family forever, until they meet again.

Survivors include, her children, Sheryl (Robert) Schulz, A. Dale (Tila) Wilcox, Christie (Mary) Wilcox, Wendy Grotto, Vanessa Feldman, and Jeffrey Wilcox; 11 grandchildren and18 great grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband, son, Gary Lynn Wilcox; and parents.
