Ronald Alberts, 85, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022. Ronald was born in Rockford, Illinois on September 1, 1936 to the late Paul and Mona (Erickson) Alberts. He married his late wife, Sally Alberts, on June 9, 1956.
Ronald was dedicated in his work for the Rockford Park District from January 1, 1958 until August 12, 2002. In his free time, he enjoyed volunteering with the Rockford Pony Baseball team and as a Captain Fireman for the West Suburban Fire Department from February 1966 until retiring in December 2014 with an Honorary Firefighter for Life award. In his time home from work and volunteering, Ronald loved to hunt, fish, golf and travel to Green Bay, Wisconsin for Bingo. He loved watching his grandkids play sports and spending time at home with his wife and two great-grandchildren Alexis and Mariah. Ronald was loved by many and was known to be a jokester with many stories to tell.
Ronald is survived by five of his children, Debby (Tim) Dimke, Mark Alberts, John Alberts, Andrea (Bob) Finch, and Sheri (John) Power. His grandchildren Brandi, Jackie, Stephanie, Nicole, Michael, Chad, Beth, Ryan, Ashley, Erik, Derek, Dylan, and Austin (Hailey). Several great-grandchildren, brother Roger and sister Judy. He is preceded in death his parents, wife, son Michael Alberts and sisters June and Joann.
