Rebecca Bell, age 88, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. She was born August 26, 1936 to Lewis and Elizabeth (Moore) Gray in Memphis, Tennessee. Rebecca married the love of her life, Sylvester Bell on March 31, 1962 in Rockford, Illinois. She worked for many years as a Food Service manager for Rockford Public School District 205. She is a member of Providence Baptist Church in Rockford, Illinois.
Rebecca enjoyed going on shopping trips to Chicago with fellow church members, especially to Woodfield Mall. She also enjoyed her time at church, volunteering as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent. Most of all Rebecca loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Sylvester Bell; daughter, Selena Bell; grandchildren, Andre II, Alisha, and Dante; great-grandson, Kingston; and daughter-in-law, Jodie.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her children, Leonard Andre Bell and Tyrone Neal Bell; parents, Lewis and Elizabeth Gray; and all her siblings.
A visitation for Rebecca will be held on Friday March 28, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Providence Baptist Church, 2209 Clifton Ave, Rockford, Illinois 61102 with a service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Willwood Burial Park, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford, Illinois, 61102.
