She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years who passed away last month, on September 24th. It looks like Peggy wanted to be with her husband on their 54th anniversary, which is next week. Her father Hadley Moore Sr, her grandparents Dr. Lawrence and Ruth (Bloom) Lynch , brother-in-law Richard (Bucky) Owens, his wife Dixie Owens, and Bruce Owens their son, Sister-in-law Virginia (Owens) Maurici and her son Dale Maurici.
Peggy is survived by her mother Aileen Moore; six brothers, Robert (Lee) Moore, Mike (Joan) Franklin, Hadley (Margee) Moore Jr, Larry (Laura) Franklin, Fredrick (Jasmine) Moore and Thomas (Cheryl) Moore; sister Georgeann Franklin (Jesse) Owens; brother-in-law Robert (Ruth) Owens and loads of nieces and nephews.
Peggy had a few different jobs, Amerock, Grays Grocery Store, Rockford Metro Center, but her favorite job was running her own day care. Peggy loved children and had her own day care for several years. She continues to get cards throughout the year from several of the kids that she had under her care. She was a Cub fan but loved the Chicago Bears the most. She had a Bears sweat suit, socks, slippers hat and pins.
Peggy liked to cook and sew. She would make baby blankets for the new born family members and friends. Peggy loved people and had lots of friends over the years. Her health had progressively gotten worse in the last 4 or 5 years, to where she didn’t get to see many of her friends. She hadn’t forgotten them, she talked about them and about all of the great times they had.
She liked to bowl, throw darts and was in several leagues for both throughout the years. She bowled in national bowling tournaments quite often with her mother, darts too. Peggy could handle her own through the years, but what would you expect with having six brothers. She also loved to fish with her husband.
There will be a private viewing for Peggy at the Advantage Funeral Home Saturday the 26th of October. That will be followed by a celebration of life at the SM - SF Club-1000 Sandy Hollow Road-Rockford, at 2PM for both Peggy and Howard (Tootie or Skip).
