Peggy Ann Griese

Peggy Ann Griese, 82, of Loves Park, IL, passed away peacefully, Friday afternoon, April 20, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 3, 1940 in Harrodsburg, KY, the daughter of Bruce and Dorothy (Watts) Sanders. Peggy Ann married Gary Evans Griese in November of 1957. She was a CNA for 10 years and retired as cashier from Walmart. In her younger years, Peggy Ann was a majorette in marching band in high school. She enjoyed gardening, music, singing, animals especially her “Precious Kitty” and loved working at Walmart. Most of all, Peggy loved being a stay at home mom when her children were small and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Gary Griese, Linda Griese; 2 grandchildren; and niece, Brenda (Scott) England. Peggy is predeceased by parents; husband, Gary; 4 infant children; sister, Carol; nephew, Bobby Gustafson and special friend, Martin Jovanovich.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Monday, May 1, 2023 in Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 7000 West State Street, Rockford with a graveside service to immediately follow in Willwood Burial Park Cemetery.
