Patrick R. Matheson

Patrick R. Matheson, 41, of South Beloit, IL, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, December 13, 2023. He was born January 28, 1982 in Rockford, IL, the son of Robert Matheson and Karen Matheson-Miller. Patrick graduated from Auburn High School, class of 2000. He had a creative and brilliant mind. Patrick enjoyed going fishing and cooking. He enjoyed going to the shooting range with his dad. Patrick loved music and playing the guitar. He was a kid at heart and he loved playing with his nieces, nephews and honorary nieces and nephews. Patrick will be remembered for having a giving heart and willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone.

Patrick is loved and missed by his father, Robert (Kristie) Matheson; his mother, Karen (Gary) Matheson-Miller; sister, Tammy (Alex) Leven; maternal grandmother, Vera Link; nieces, Hannah, Haley and Allie; nephews, Blake and Noah; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Edith Matheson and maternal grandfather, Edgar Link.

A memorial gathering will take place from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford, IL 61102. Burial to follow at Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Winnebago County Animal Shelter. The funeral service will be livestreamed on Facebook at www.facebook.com/AdvantageRockford.com.
