Melanie D. Hogan

Melanie D. Hogan, 69, of Roscoe, Illinois passed away peacefully at home on October 18, 2020. Melanie was born on February 9, 1951 in Logansport, Indiana to Robert and Barbara Harmon. At an early age Melanie moved to the Rockford area. She attended and graduated from Rockford West High School in 1969. Melanie married the love of her life Daniel Hogan on October 30th, 1971. In 1975, she began her career in the medical field in which she worked over 25 years before retiring. Golfing, fishing, and tending to her vegetable garden were just a few of the things she loved to do; but there was nothing she loved more than being a mother and a grandmother.

Melanie is survived by her husband, Daniel Hogan; children, Jennifer D. (Jim) Akers and Jessie D. (John Lewis) Hogan; grandchildren, James D. Akers, Ava N. Akers, and Jada P. Lewis. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Barbara Harmon; brother, Michael Harmon.

A Memorial Walk through Visitation will be held on October 30, 2020 from 10am until 11am at Advantage Funeral Home (7000 W. State St, Rockford, IL 61102).
