Illinois to Myrle (Veit) and Reuben Hammond. She was the youngest of five children. She lived her whole life in Rockford and worked for several years at General Electric . She then chose a career as a homemaker taking care of her husband and family. Mary and her husband enjoyed camping , fishing and Archery. They were lifelong members of Blackhawk Field Archers.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Couch; daughter, Robin (Chuck) Brandi; grandchildren, Chantelle (Stephanie) Couch, Cheri Couch, Nick Brandi and Jack Brandi; great- grandchildren, Jasmine, Kailey and Santo; daughter-in-law, Amy Couch; sisters, Helen Foster, Betty Adams. Predeceased by parents; husband, Harold; brothers, David and Tommy Hammond.
