Marilyn E. Fitz, 93, of Rockford passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 at her residence with family by her side. Marilyn was born on May 19, 1927 in Omaha, NE the daughter of Herman and Emma (Hauschild) Tagtmeyer. Marilyn retired from Alpine State Bank after 29 years of service. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, volunteered at Crusader Thrift Shop and was a member of North Suburban Women’s Club. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family and decorating her house for all the holidays. She loved her butterflies and snowmen.
Loving and Cherished Mother of Bruce (Kathy) Fitz, Barry (Diane) Fitz, Brad (Lynn) Fitz, Linda Fitz and Lori (Brad) Glenn; Grandma to Todd (Sophie Milam) Fitz, Tim (Kelly) Fitz, Chad (Tammy) Fitz, Lisa (Tim) Dolan, Steven (Keri) Kuehne, Jenn (Loren) Whitten, Jon (Melissa) Glenn and Kristen (Tom) Truitt; GG to great-grandchildren: Beckett, Braedy, Macy, Landon, Addy, Mason, Patrick, Taryn, Hadley, Harper, Emi, Finley, Maddyn, Austin, Zane, Haylee and Becca; sisters-in-law: Janet Rondeau and Ruth Fitz; several nieces and nephews; special people in her life: Jan, Eileen, Estelle and Dee.
Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, sister Mona and Ray Fitz.
The family would like to thank Lydia and Northern Illinois Hospice for the loving care that was given to Marilyn.
