Margaret Van Sickle

Margaret L. (Maude) Van Sickle, 79, Winnebago, passed away on October 20, 2013. She was born on May 4, 1934 in Chicago to Hazel Bowman. She graduated from High School in Mt. Carroll, Illinois and later graduated from Rockford Nursing School. She worked at Rockford Memorial Hospital as a medicine LPN for 26 years.

Margaret married Charles Van Sickle on August 20, 1955 in Belvidere. She was a member of Winnebago Methodist Church. Margaret was also an avid reader and loved gardening, taking walks and other outdoor activities.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; children, Thomas (Penny Miller) Van Sickle, Melanie (Steven) Lukasik, and Theodore (Susan) Van Sickle; grand children, Shane (Renae) Van Sickle, Maigan (Chris ) Dodson , Cassie, Oscar, Alex, Maggie and Carly Van Sickle; great grandchildren; Brynn and Libby Van Sickle, Anna and Ella Dodson, and Max Miller.

Margaret is preceded in death by her mother, Hazel and step-father, Melbourne Bowman.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Anne’s Center for the compassionate and loving care they have shown to Margaret.

Visitation will be held from 10:30am to 12:30pm, Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 7000 W. State Street. Rockford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Winnebago Methodist Church.
