Myers, Lynne Anne (Nee Kenney)
It is with great sadness and sorrow that the family of Lynn Anne Myers (Kenney) of Poplar Grove, formerly of Schiller Park, announces her passing after a brief battle with lung cancer on August 20, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Rockford, IL at the age of 68.
Lynn was born on December 10, 1949 in Park Ridge, IL. She attended Maine High School in Park Ridge. She worked in the restaurant business for many years and retired from Lifetouch Photography.
Lynn was an avid hockey fan who could often be seen at BMO Harris Bank Center cheering on the Ice Hogs. She was also a strong supporter of Special Olympics and spent a great deal of her life participating in many events for middle son Danny was involved in. She loved to play her favorite slot machines at Ho-Chunk Casino in Madison. She had a contagious laugh that would brighten even your worst day. She lived by the principles of Al-Anon, she has also helped so many people in great need to get through the toughest of times. She touched so many lives in many different ways, also made friends everywhere she went. She would often say, “Be kind to everyone especially strangers and people you run into because you never know what they’re going through or what they’ve been through.” That was a value she strongly believed in to be kind to others. She loved animals of all kind, including her dog, Buddy and many cats she lad were so dear to her. She was adventurous, outgoing and a free spirit who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lynn will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Tommy Myers (Tina), Danny Myers and Timmy Myers(Kelsey); her roommate and former partner of many years, Russell Luchtenburg; her only sister, Donna Avella; stepbrothers, John and Jim Luety; stepsister, Susanne Grohe (Robert). Lynn will also be fondly remembered by her cousin Sheila; nieces and nephews, Roberta Predovich (Mark), Barbie Kohberger (Peter), Kristi Lagondino (Tony), Dana Howell (Virgil), David and Kalee Howell, Steven Campbell, Jamie and Justin Luety, Michelle, Brian and Michael Grohe. She also had a precious bond with her great niece and nephew Kaitlynn and Christopher, who will miss her greatly, along with her great nieces Mariah, Mia and Emersyn. She will forever by remembered by her best friend Karen Garrard, which the two of them went on many adventures and shared a very special bond.
Lynn was the loving daughter of Donald and Shirley (Monson) Kenney and the stepdaughter of Fran Kenney; ex-wife of Gary Myers; amazing aunt to Billy Myers (Charlene) to whom she was predeceased by.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 22 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Candlewick Lake Recreation Center, 1812 Candlewick Dr. SE, Poplar Grove, IL 61065.
