Leonard Charles Miller, 91, formerly of Rockford, passed away April 3, 2015 in Hindsville, AR. Born September 14, 1923 in Davis Junction; he was the son of Henry and Neta (Knot) Miller. He married Helen J. Hayes on January 10, 1942.
A WWII Veteran of the Army Air Corps; Leonard retired from the city of Rockford after more than 40 years of employment. He was a member of the Disabled Veterans of America.
An avid fisherman, he enjoyed spending his time boating, collecting and running model trains, yard work, gardening, and coin collecting.
Survivors include his children, Stephen (Rhonda) Miller and Connie (Galen) Kliven; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 1 great, great-grandchild; brothers, Robert (Sandy) and Dennis (Linda) Miller; sister, Diane Sechrest; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, wife, son, Thomas C. Miller; daughter-in-law, Donna Miller; sisters, Marlon Vola and Verna Ottwell.
Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 8th, at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford; Pastor Wendell Maynard officiating. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 7th, at the funeral home. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be submitted at advantagerockford.com
